Description

This is my first 3d printing project. It's a cuff bracelet that prints flat.

Medium is 18 x 4cm, large (pictured) is 20cm x 4cm

Print Settings

Rafts:

No

Supports:

No

Infill:

30%

Notes:
Print using PLA which will bend at a lower temperature, this will not work with ABS.

Post-Printing

To shape the cuff:

Place it in hot water (approx. 90c/200F) for a few seconds until it softens.
Carefully remove it from the water and bend it into shape. You'll need to work quickly as it will cool in a few seconds

Tips:

Use tongs to avoid burning yourself. Soft tipped silicone tongs work well.
If you're not happy with the shape, just put it back in the hot water and try again.
I've found using a small container with rounded edges makes adjusting the final shape easier.

How I Designed This

I got the idea for thermoforming a bracelet from Easy Hex Thermoform Bracelet by mathgrrl.
