This is a motor mount for a simple and easy plane that is great for beginners. Glue it to a walmart glider, hook up a motor, and you're good to go!

Overview and Background

This is how I got into Remote control airplanes. My friend's dad is an engineer and does an airplane workshop every summer. This is the plane that we used, and as you can see it is very simple to build. It flies very smoothly and is also very efficient.

Have Fun!

Lesson Plan and Activity
Insert your servos and receiver into the slots into the motor mount. Put your motor onto the mount and connect your wires. You will need a little bit of foam or cardboard to make your control surfaces. Once you have made the control surfaces, connect them to the servos. Make sure you have all of your wires plugged in correctly, and you should be good to go!

Materials Needed
all you need to make this plane is

a brushless motor of your choice that will fit the 11.5 x 11.5 mm motor mount.
a 30 amp speed controller
3 cell rechargeable lipo battery
2 $1 9 gram servos
a glider like the ones you can find at walmart or a hobby store.
pushrods or strong wire
